The Association for Women in Science (AWIS) will be hosting the 3rd annual Women’s History Month Symposium on March 8th at the Bird Auditorium on the OU Health Science Center campus in Oklahoma City. Keynote speaker is Dr. Elaine Hamm, COO, Accele Biopharma Inc. Dr. Hamm is an OU alumna and since receiving her Ph.D. from OU, she has gone on to a successful career in industry and entrepreneurship, working at biotech companies as well as funding them. She currently is the head of research and operations for a portfolio of early stage pharmaceutical companies.

Dr. Hamm’s lecture titled, “Resolutions for Revolutions: making plans for big (and small) changes”, will be followed by a reception in the Bird Atrium. Please RSVP at the Event Brite site.

We hope to see you there!

AWIS events are free and open to all, regardless of gender or OU affiliation.

We would like to thank all of our sponsors including the OU-Norman and OUHSC Student Government Associations, Campus Activities Council Speaker’s Bureau, Student Affairs, The Office of the President, Mewbourne College of Earth & Energy, Gallogly College of Engineering, and the Departments of Geology and Geophysics and Microbiology & Plant Biology.
