Ulf Mattson, Cryptography Guru Joins Leadership Team

Oklahoma City, Ok. – February 20, 2018 – TokenEx, a global cloud data protection platform that provides tokenization, encryption, and data vaulting as a unified software as a service, today announced that they have hired 10 new employees to fuel a strong 2018 first quarter, including the addition of cryptography guru Ulf Mattson as the leader of the TokenEx Innovation Team. Mattson will lead the Innovation Team on researching new ways to apply existing technologies to create security solutions for diverse industries, environments, and data sets. His research and development roadmaps will create new technologies to expand the TokenEx Data Security Platform.

TokenEx plans to add at least 10 more staff members this year. The team expansion was fueled by unmatched revenue growth, requiring the organization to expand into new offices in both Oklahoma City and Tulsa, adding an additional 7,000 square feet of office space leaving a greater technology footprint on the state of Oklahoma.

“We are very excited to watch a fellow Oklahoma organization experience this level of growth and success,” Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum said. “TokenEx is positively contributing to our economy while providing workforce opportunities for our community.”

TokenEx continues to grow at unrivaled rates, and was most recently named one of the top 6 best tech startup firms in Oklahoma City by The Tech Tribune.

“I was amazed at how quickly we outgrew both offices in such a short time, but it’s a tribute to our existing staff and technology that we are rapidly acquiring new customers that require new staff to deliver the highest level of support and services,” said CEO/Co-founder Alex Pezold.

    Ulf Mattson

Previously, Mattson was the Chief Technology Officer at Atlantic BT Security Solutions, and earlier the Chief Technology Officer at Compliance Engineering. Ulf was also the CTO and a founder of Protegrity. He invented Protegrity Vaultless Tokenization and Data Type Preservation (DTP2), as well as the initial architecture of Protegrity’s database security technology. Prior to Protegrity, Ulf worked 20 years at IBM in software development and in IBM’s Research organization focused on IT Architecture and Security. He received a US Green Card of class ‘EB 11–Individual of Extraordinary Ability’ after endorsement by IBM.

“TokenEx is not only one of the fastest growing cybersecurity companies, but they are also building great technology that is having a real impact on protecting organizations across industries, including cloud and space satellites in orbits,” said Ulf Mattsson. “I am extremely excited to contribute to the team and play a part in our continued success.”

Ulf holds more than 55 patents in the areas of Encryption, Policy-Driven Data Encryption, Internal Threat Protection, Data Usage Control, and Intrusion Prevention. One particular line of his research during the last 15 years was on managing and enforcing security policies for databases, including joint projects with research and development teams at IBM, Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Oracle, Sybase, Informix, Teradata, and RSA. Ulf is a research member of IFIP and a member of ANSI X9.

    About TokenEx

The TokenEx Cloud Data Protection Platform provides tokenization, encryption, and data vaulting as a unified software as a service. Designed from the beginning to be processor and vendor agnostic, the TokenEx cloud platform integrates transparently with your existing business processes and payment providers. In most cases, the integration with TokenEx is so seamless that your employees don’t even know it’s working in the background. Because the sensitive payment, personal, and health data is completely removed from your business systems, a successful breach by hackers and their malware bots results in no loss of data, just streams of tokens that are useless to them. All your data is safely vaulted in the secure cloud platform, ready to be processed on demand simply by swapping tokens for data as you interact with your payment providers and service partners. “No Data. No Theft.” www.TokenEx.com
